Over the weekend, I ran a poll. (I think I am going to start doing more of these!) It garnered 3,150 impressions, of which 81 voted (38.89%). There were 22 Reactions (besides the votes & comments), 26 Comments and 2 Reposts.
These numbers are only valuable to know how people engaged. Of those that viewed the post, the top demographics of unique viewers was:
This is the people I interact with and engage. The top demographics of these people are NY Metropolitan Area ? 73, London ??63, Los Angeles ? 51, Mumbai ? 40, Randstad, Netherlands ? 35... and elsewhere in clusters around the world.
The real information of VALUE - is the POLL.
Attention Creatives! What do you think is the biggest challenge when integrating AI into your workflow?
What are the concerns?
1. Knowing best AI option (51 votes / 63%)
With so many different A.I. tools and platforms available, it can be difficult to know which ones are the best fit for a particular creative workflow. This can be especially challenging for people who may not have a technical background or expertise in A.I.. I started breaking the proliferation of A.I. technologies into Categories (or buckets/silos) and have determined there to be 13 active categories of A.I. tech with 2 in discussion. (My next article I plan to cover those). With so much happening in A.I. land - it is hard to keep up, much less know which is best!
2. Unaware what AI can do (13 votes / 16%)
Many people may not fully understand the capabilities of A.I. and how it can be applied to their work. This can lead to a lack of confidence in implementing A.I. and a reluctance to explore its potential benefits. There are a number of fantastic tools readily available, but I think there is beginning to be a wave of Decision Paralysis with too many choices - so the easiest is - none.
3. Concerns AI will replace them (10 votes / 12%)
With the increasing use of automation and A.I. in various industries, many people worry about the potential loss of jobs and the impact on their livelihoods. This concern is particularly valid in fields where creativity and innovation are highly valued, as there may be a perception that A.I. cannot replicate human ingenuity. My concession is that A.I. will not replace humans in creative, but people using A.I. probably will.

4. Fear of the Unknown (7 votes, 9%)
A.I. is a relatively new technology, and it's understandable that many people may feel uncertain about how it works and what its implications might be. The media often portrays A.I. in a sensationalized or dystopian way, which can contribute to this fear. The most recent headlines being spread are the Tech Leaders seeking a 6-month stay on advancing the tech, and those who "lit the fire" of A.I. Creation are now stepping away and complaining about the fire... Lots of INFORMATION, without a lot of clarity. This creates confusion and chaos.
5. Data Privacy & Security Issues (2 write ins)
As AI becomes more integrated into various workflows, there are legitimate concerns about the collection and use of data. With high-profile data breaches and scandals in recent years, it's understandable that people may be wary of using AI in their work without proper safeguards in place.
There was a "write-in" from commenters:
100% knowing the best option. The marketplace will soon be flooded with so many different apps, software and systems. Some paid, some free and even some that will appear awesome to newbies but will actually be fully bloated software not built by real developers that slows down your phone or laptop.
What is the wrap up?
As AI becomes more ubiquitous, there will be a growing need for clarity and guidance on which AI tools and platforms are trustworthy and effective. It might be that a trusted organization, similar to a consumer research group, could provide valuable information and quality ratings for AI technology, helping creatives make informed decisions about which tools to use in their workflows. I believe this will happen in silos of use. My drive has been around Creatives and Creative Teams with the purpose of sharing with them how to utilize A.I. in their creative workflows.
However, in the meantime, it's important for us to continue to look out for each other and help our fellow human beings navigate the complex and rapidly evolving world of A.I.. This means sharing knowledge and resources, being transparent about the potential benefits and limitations of A.I., and advocating for ethical and responsible use of these technologies.
By working together and prioritizing human values and ethics, we can ensure that A.I. is used in a way that benefits society as a whole, rather than perpetuating inequalities or eroding human dignity. Ultimately, it is up to all of us to safeguard each other and build a future where A.I. is used to enhance human creativity and potential.
