A.I. Explore: Generative AI for Creatives - in Branding (p. 3)

Wrapping up my last post (in part 2) I showed how I was able to have Chat-GPT create 3 different sets of 3 Direction Attributes each, by observing my list of supplied Brand Attributes (3 to 6 word/phrases for each of the 6 Attributes listed).

Next steps....

When working on Branding, and I have the 3 sets of 3 Direction Attributes, I would then begin crafting a collage. Not artistically at this point - just fast references that represent each set. To hone in on the things that I should be looking for to create my dump file, I can utilize Chat-GPT to refine my search parameters.

How do you do that? You explain specifically what you are looking for from Chat-GPT. Be clear and as precise as you can be. Here is how I approached it for the 3 sets it had provided me.

There is not really a formula, but a procedural process for asking what you want of Chat-GPT. I say that because if you only copy-paste existing formulas, you limit your capability to do outside of or beyond what you have a formula to accomplish. This is me teaching you how to fish.

Chat-GPT responded:

  • Colors: Pastel Pink (for the gift market and to hint at humor), Cream (to represent the high-quality soaps and candles), Deep Purple (for a touch of luxury and quality).
  • Typography: A clean and modern sans-serif typeface that communicates quality and readability, with a quirky handwritten font for highlights and accents, such as "Open Sans" and "Amatic SC".
  • Imagery: Images should focus on product showcases, possibly with whimsical, funny scenarios or props added to highlight the humor aspect.

Set 3:

  • Other brands: Dove - Known for their motivational and heartwarming campaigns, encouraging positive action.

  • Typography: A strong, clean serif font for readability and a touch of sophistication, with a more personal-feeling script font for emotional highlights, such as "Merriweather" and "Dancing Script".

  • Other: Consider using storytelling in your marketing strategy. This could be customer testimonials, behind-the-scenes looks at product creation, or sharing the stories behind the products.



I now have a solid direction for 3 different sets in this branding exercise. I could hand off this information to 3 different designers and they would have clear direction for what to begin searching and collecting, or I have for myself a clear direction to take for each set to begin crafting dump files or collages of visual ideas from which to create my Moodboard.
