Just as I prepare to launch my content and copywriting business, in enters?ChatGPT?like 'Boss Baby' strapped to a rocket! Still an infant, smarter than most humans, and taking on the world - or saving it??
AI isn't a new concept, but when someone like Jordan Peterson says it's the most intelligent thing on the planet (or something like that) it piqued my interest.
Within a few minutes, I had signed up and was pumping out questions and receiving responses quicker than I could blink.
I was having a marvellous time until it dawned on me that this new super technology is my COMPETITOR. Noooooo!
As fun as this platform was, I felt a little scared and even a little sad that my new career may take a nose-dive before it's even started.
Prior to November 2022 I would have reached out to fellow copywriters and writing groups and asked, "Will this affect our industry?"
Instead post 2022 me created a chat:
"in an 800-word article explain if AI will eliminate the need for human copywriters".
I am happy to report that, according to AI,?human copywriters are still necessary to create truly effective and engaging content.?For now...
Here's is the very interesting AI Generated Response:
Artificial intelligence (AI) has been making waves in many industries, and the world of copywriting is no exception. With the ability to analyze data, learn patterns, and generate text, it's no wonder that many people are wondering if AI will eventually eliminate the need for human copywriters. In this article, we will explore the capabilities of AI in the realm of copywriting, and whether or not it will be able to replace human writers.
First, let's take a look at what AI is currently capable of in the world of copywriting. There are a number of AI-powered tools that can generate text, from simple algorithms that can write headlines and summaries, to more advanced systems that can write entire articles and blog posts. These tools are able to analyze data, such as keywords and search trends, to generate text that is optimized for search engines and relevant to the topic at hand.
Additionally, AI-powered tools can also analyze data to understand the tone and style that a particular audience is most likely to respond to. They can then use this information to generate text that is tailored to that audience, making it more likely to resonate and drive conversions.
Despite these capabilities, it's important to note that AI-powered tools are not currently able to write text that is as compelling and engaging as text written by a human. AI-generated text is often robotic and lacks the nuances and subtleties that make human-written text so powerful. Additionally, AI-generated text is often not as creative or imaginative as text written by a human.
Another important factor to consider is that AI-powered tools are only as good as the data they are trained on. They can only generate text based on the information and patterns they have been exposed to. This means that they may not be able to generate text that is truly unique and original.
It's also worth noting that AI-powered tools, while they can generate text, are not able to provide the strategic and creative thinking that human copywriters bring to the table. Human copywriters can help clients to understand their target audience, identify key messages and objectives, and develop a content strategy that will help to achieve those goals.
In conclusion, while AI-powered tools are able to generate text and analyze data, they are not currently able to replace human copywriters. While AI-generated text may be optimized for search engines and tailored to a specific audience, it lacks the nuances, creativity, and strategic thinking that human writers bring to the table. Additionally, AI-powered tools are only as good as the data they are trained on, so they may not be able to generate truly unique and original text.
It's important to note that AI and human copywriters can coexist and even complement each other. AI can help to analyze data, generate text, and optimize it for search engines, while human copywriters can provide the creativity, nuance, and strategic thinking that is necessary to create truly compelling and engaging text. In the future, as AI technology continues to evolve, it will become more advanced and may be able to write more human-like text. However, for now, human copywriters are still necessary to create truly effective and engaging content.
