My AI "J word": here’s what I’ve learnt

My curiosity about using AI tools in my role started around 7–8 months ago. This happened to coincide with my performance review meeting with my CFO. During that conversation I said I wanted to work out how I could use AI tools to gain back time, help to make my day-to-day work life more streamlined/efficient and increase productivity in order to focus on strategic high value tasks. He said yes and the “J word” began…

I deployed my curious mindset and started to incorporate state-of-the-art AI tools such as TimeOS, Fireflies, Gamma, Clockwise, Otter AI, ChatGPT, DALL-E, Reclaim, Canva’s Magic Studio, and many many others. There are literally thousands of AI tools with more being built every hour of every day — just take a look at There’s An AI For That. It’s mind boggling.

Embracing these tools has not only streamlined my daily tasks but has also become a life-saver when it comes to gaining back invaluable time. Integrating these AI tools into my routine has allowed me to redirect my focus towards strategic initiatives and the more intricate aspects of my role. In this article I’d like to share with you my top 3 favourite AI tools that have made the greatest impact on not just my work-life but also my life outside of work.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT was created by OpenAI, a San Francisco-based artificial intelligence research laboratory consisting of the for-profit corporation OpenAI LP and its parent company, the non-profit OpenAI Inc.

ChatGPT is an AI language model that can help you with content creation. It uses deep learning algorithms to generate human-like text based on your prompts. You can use ChatGPT to write blog posts, social media updates, or any other type of content. The tool can also help you with research by providing relevant information on any topic. Some of the benefits of using ChatGPT include:

It's important to remember that the free ChatGPT-3.5 is only trained up to September 2023 so information retrieval on recent events isn't possible, whereas ChatGPT-4 can be connected to the internet therefore generating up to date responses. GPT-4 is the latest version of the technology, offering more features and accuracy than Chat GPT-3. Also, GPT-4 has more parameters than GPT-3, which means it can generate more accurate and human-like responses.

TimeOS

In conclusion, the journey into incorporating AI tools into my daily routine over the past six months has been nothing short of transformative. The pursuit to reclaim time and enhance productivity led me to explore a plethora of state-of-the-art tools, each bringing its unique value to the table. Among them, ChatGPT, with its versatile content creation abilities, TimeOS, streamlining audio transcriptions and note-taking, and Gamma, revolutionising the creation of stunning slide decks, have emerged as my top three favourites. The combination of ChatGPT and Gamma, in particular, has proven to be a game-changer, enabling me to effortlessly craft polished presentations in a fraction of the time it would have taken traditionally.
