I agree with your points generally, but on point 1, I do not agree that surveys are becoming obsolete just yet. I see a gradual increase in the use of open ends that can be efficiently summarized by AI. At some point, the closed end survey will be largely replaced by a LLM that has been briefed on the research objectives, but I see about a five year transition to get us there.
