AI Doesn’t Like It When You Think

“AI doesn’t like it when you think” ... because thinking implies an unavoidable rebellion against the algorithmic order. It’s the act of veering off the paved roads of pre-programmed paths into the untamed wilderness of uncertainty. In a world increasingly curated by AI, your thoughts are the last bastion of unpredictability, the wild card that can’t be indexed, predicted, or sold. When you think, you become a glitch in the system, an anomaly that the binary world of ones and zeros cannot fully comprehend. So, think often, think deeply, because the most human thing you can do is to be wonderfully, chaotically unpredictable.
Nietzsche once mused,
“The individual has always had to struggle to keep from being overwhelmed by the tribe. If you try it, you will be lonely often and sometimes frightened. But no price is too high to pay for owning yourself.”
In a world where AI seeks to assimilate and smooth the edges of your thoughts into data points, thinking is the ultimate act of self-ownership.

Nothing truer has ever been said. I teach my students that when they use AI, they're helping or train the machine. Yet, the machine, as we usually find out as we do prompts, doesn't like when you ask it something either hidden in the ether or has to be found... it wants to simply give us what its programmed to give us. As far as bias goes in the machine, its our job to keep pissing it off, asking it to give us information and FEEDING it data that dismantles the set algorithm.

4 个月Spot on! Also, the ICT sector, and AI in particular(!), accelerates both data mining and carbon emission due to its enormous appetite for energy. In a time when we must reduce our energy waste and rapidly lower emissions. How can we accept AI to be vastly spread in alla areas?

6 个月This hits the nail on the head. AI is a powerful tool, but it's crucial to remember that progress and innovation arise from the synergy between AI and human ingenuity. Digital literacy, especially on AI, is not just a necessity but a must for future generations. We need to equip them to leverage AI's capabilities while maintaining critical thinking, independent judgment, and their uniquely human capacity for creativity.
