Artificial Intelligence is going to take over the world and control mankind is just a myth, according to a few articles I have read by experts. Yet, we fear the machines and think that someday they will dictate our human existence and possibly destroy us. Perhaps, this is because of some of the ways in which artificial intelligence has been depicted in science fiction novels and in cinema, as destroyers of mankind. A good example of this is the “Terminator” movie and series.
Machines are just machines and only function with the help of the programs that are installed in their circuitry. Is A.I. friendly to humanity? Yes, you can get a friendly A.I. that is programmed with social interacting skills, like a robot designed to look like a human being in appearance and in mannerisms, that will smile at you as you approach and converse with you, just like a human being. The same human-looking robot will also watch your reactions and react to you accordingly.
Yet, there are machines designed to do work that could be viewed as harmful, when it crushes cars or machinery in a junkyard. Machines are programmed by human beings to do all types of work in the various fields of work that we have in industries.
Machines do not have conscious, subconscious minds, hearts, brains, and souls like we do and so are incapable of thinking or feeling like we humans do in life. Machines are not capable of destroying us consciously, as they do not have minds and souls. However, we can either prosper in life with the help of machines that increase productivity and efficiency or we can be sent to our extinction if the same machines are programmed to destroy life-sustaining systems. The common factor in both cases is that it is the human-designed program embedded into the machine that will be responsible for the desired end result. In other words, do not get a mad genius or a dictator to program an army of machine systems to destroy the human race.

Artificial intelligence will not take over the world. However, man and machine can have a symbiotic relationship that will advance both mankind and machines for centuries to come, which will be beneficial for the human race. A.I. is not a threat, but a useful tool, for humanity’s advancement and evolution.
