#1 AI + Community = Simple and Effective Class

Over the next several days, we will be pushing out new newsletters. This is not an attempt to be annoying...it's attempt to demonstrate how intentional we have been with architecting each of our features. So, here it goes.

Ari and Community

If you've been in education for any more than a few years, you'll know one thing about initiatives: they are cyclical. A new idea will enter the scene only to be replaced by another a couple years later. But if you stick around long enough, it will reappear. Guaranteed.

This is true of almost every innovation that we've seen in education. From alternative schedules, to project based learning, to standards-based grading, education is always in motion. But one thing that is new did the classroom is AI. AI is something that only recently has poked its nose into the classroom and all teachers are feeling it, whether they appreciate it or not.

Just as every good EdTech company is doing its best to use AI to innovate, so is AIR Language. But we asked one question that many others are not asking: how can we constrain our AI system to the various and predictable needs of English learners. Think about the different things that English learners need when they come into a school system:

  • Language instruction
  • Assistance in technology
  • Cultural understanding (this is particularly broad)
  • Educational background

To varying degrees, our English learners need some combination of all of these, and to be honest, one teacher cannot be expected to deliver them all. We believe Ari, our AI reading tutor, can deliver them, though.

But if AI is all we give to our students, they will still be lacking. Something many EdTech tools fail to deliver, is fundamental to the human spirit: community.

Community is what makes it all worthwhile. Without community AI is just another machine.

And that is why we are going all-in on Flow by AIR Language. Flow is a place where teachers from all over the world can meet and exchange ideas for a more efficient and effective classroom. So, over the next several months will be hosting the following:

  • Webinars with specific specialties, and opportunities for further collaboration
  • Access to free resources
  • Meetings that will provide new content and structure for classes as well as interaction with other English language teachers
  • Giveaways for teachers

Flow by AIR Language is to be seen as a conduit for greater collaboration, so teachers don't have to go at it alone. Flow will be a collaborative community that helps you make your class as effective and efficient as possible.

In the month of January, we are hosting a contest on our community Flow by AIR Language.

The person at the top of the leader board on February 1st will recieve a $100 Amazon gift card.

And what do you have to do? Very little.

Here are 3 steps you can take to earn $100.

  1. Sign up at skool.com/flow
  2. Interact with people on the platform.
  3. Win.
