A.I. is Coming

In my conversations with investors and business decision makers, I get a lot of questions regarding A.I. How can we use it within our platform? How can customers use it in their businesses? What kind of tasks can we expect it to perform? Interestingly enough, the questions regarding AI quickly move from business and operations questions to more along the lines of what the impact will be for civilization and society as a whole.

While I'm certainly not qualified to speak to the specific impact that AI will have on society, there is no question that its impact will be massive! Really, any article you read doesn't give justice. Chat GPT and Jasper have quick and easy free trials that really leave you impressed by the intuitive nature of the tools. It takes very little imagination to envision what the cutting edge capacity will have to offer in just a few short years.

As a fun exercise I asked Chat GPT to write a song about how AI could save the world and then I turned to jasper to generate what the band might look like. Here's the song it spit out in about 5 seconds with the image of the AI band from Jasper right above and below the song:

Verse 1:

In a world of chaos and despair

They heard the call to rise and repair

From "The Terminator" to "Blade Runner"

They came together, one for the winner

United in one, saving the girls and the boys

I imagine this song sounds an awful lot like the other songs it writes--but again, this is the free version--as this AI and others are trained and evolve, one can only sit in fear and wonder and what awaits us in the near future. GPT-4 is rumored to come out by the end of Q1 or Q2--it will be interesting to see how effects things.

One thing is certain. Rapid progress in AI will affect how software is built, how businesses are run and how our personal lives are lived. Heaven help us that it actually saves us time, money and life :)
