AI Chatbots: The Next Frontier
To counter the growing popularity of?ChatGPT, backed by its rival Microsoft, Google has introduced a new experimental AI chatbot named 'Bard'.
"Bard seeks to combine the breadth of the world's knowledge with the power, intelligence, and creativity of our large language models." as stated by Google CEO Sundar Pichai in a blog post.
ChatGPT, an artificial intelligence chatbot developed by OpenAI, as claimed, can respond to everything - from stories and mathematical solutions to theoretical essays. It is a trained chatbot that interacts conversationally. Since its launch, ChatGPT has become the talk of the town worldwide, making its users wonder about its intelligence. Interestingly, ChatGPT is open-source, making it accessible for anyone to use and create their applications.
Now, the question arises: What will the likes of Amazon and Apple offer? Expecting Alexa and Siri to become Chatbots offering real-time conversations is entirely foreseeable soon, probably weeks or months. However, Chatbot technology is certainly not in its novel stage. Tech behemoths, including Meta and Microsoft, have released such models earlier and received mixed responses from users.
Interestingly, ChatGPT is not bug-free. As per reviews, the model gives a detailed but incorrect answer to a question on algebra.
The research titled "How Close is ChatGPT to Human Experts?" found that when answering a question that requires professional knowledge from a particular field, ChatGPT sometimes fabricated facts to give a response. Moreover, OpenAI and a published report admit that while ChatGPT can answer questions, it can only get to them indirectly once the topic becomes too complex or niche.
Furthermore, the finding that its intelligence overrides limits on results related to gore, crime, and racism remains a debatable question open for discussion.?
