AI chatbots in the language classroom
Cambridge University Press & Assessment English
Where your world grows. We help people learn English and prove their skills to the world.
AI-powered chatbots are becoming increasingly common in our daily lives, helping us with tech support, optimal routes for planning a trip, personalised recommendations while shopping online and many other tasks. Likewise, in language education, chatbots can play several useful roles, both for teachers and for learners. For example, chatbots can give 24/7 assistance to learners, provide personalised instruction and feedback, and act as conversation partners. For teachers, they can help to minimise repetitive and administrative tasks and can help with marking, to name just a few examples.?
In our conversation with Nik Peachey, Pedagogical Director of Peachey Publications and Ann-Marie Murphy, of Cambridge University Press & Assessment, we discuss about what AI chatbots actually are, how they operate, and how we can use them to enhance our teaching.??

6 天前AI chatbots are indeed transforming language learning by making practice more accessible and personalized. While they can’t replace human teachers, they offer instant feedback, engage learners in conversation, and reduce administrative workload. The key is using them as a tool to complement traditional learning, not as a complete substitute. What’s your experience with AI in education?
