AI Can’t Do Everything...

AI Can’t Do Everything...

By: Ryan DuBois

As we enter this new phase of AI entering our workforce, there are mixed emotions. Some people are scared, some are embracing it, some are rejecting it, and others don’t even know what’s happening. But whether we like it or not, AI is here, and it will change many things in business and life.

What’s important is how we choose to react. Tony Robbins said it best:

“If you don’t innovate fast, disrupt your industry, disrupt yourself, you’ll be left behind.”

If you’re not leveraging AI in your business, you’ll fall behind. AI brings efficiency, but at the same time, there are many things AI can’t do—and that’s where businesses will set themselves apart.

The Human Factor AI Can't Replace

Let’s start with what AI cannot do:

  • AI cannot replace personal relationships in business.
  • AI cannot get up at 5:00 AM, laced with discipline, and put in the hard work required to build a healthy, vibrant lifestyle and become the ultimate version of yourself.
  • AI cannot motivate your team or replace the human connection, empathy, and emotional intelligence required to lead effectively.
  • And this list goes on and on... seriously, there is nothing to be scared of here!

As Simon Sinek says,

“Leadership is not about being in charge. It’s about taking care of those in your charge.”

AI will never replicate the personal touch that makes a leader genuinely care for their team members, clients, or family.

Brené Brown reinforces this idea in her book Dare to Lead, where she emphasizes that leadership is about vulnerability, connection, and courage—none of which AI can deliver.

Leverage AI for What It Can Do

But here's the good news: AI can help you focus on these human qualities by freeing up your time.

If you use AI properly, you can automate certain repetitive or time-consuming tasks and maximize your time for what matters most—the things AI can’t do.

Peter Drucker once said,

“Do what you do best, and outsource the rest.”

That’s what AI allows you to do—it’s not about letting AI take over everything but strategically using it to free up your energy for the tasks that only you can do best.

Tim Ferriss, in his book The 4-Hour Workweek, explains how automation can transform the way you work. Imagine being able to hand off 25% of your daily tasks to AI. Ferriss says,

“Focus on being productive instead of busy,”

and that’s exactly what AI can help you achieve.

Now, I’ll Have to Admit...

I’m not great at this AI thing right now, but I do subscribe to the philosophy of continuously learning and growing in all phases of life.

So let’s learn together and push each other to new and amazing heights! The world is evolving, and we need to evolve with it.

Practical Action Steps:

1. Identify the tasks you dislike:

Be honest—what do you dread doing every day?

What drains your energy?

You’re probably not good at them anyway!

If AI could handle even 25% of those tasks, wouldn’t that be great?

Hand them off, free up your time, and focus on what really matters.

2. Refocus on your strengths:

Now that the boring stuff is out of the way, dive into what you do best.

This is where you shine—leading, creating, and building relationships.

AI can't replicate your unique strengths, and this is what will help you stand out.

3. Explore what AI can do:

Don’t guess—look into what AI can actually take off your plate.

Whether it’s automating routine tasks, scheduling, or data entry, AI can give you back valuable hours in your day.

Find out what’s possible and use it.

4. Stay flexible and adapt:

AI is evolving fast, and so should you.

Keep an open mind, stay curious, and be willing to adapt as new tools emerge.

The leaders who succeed are the ones who embrace change and use it to their advantage.

As Brené Brown puts it,

“You can’t get to courage without walking through vulnerability.”

So, in this AI-driven world, embracing both technology and your human strengths will set you apart in ways that AI never can.

At the end of the day, AI is a tool. It’s up to you whether to embrace it or not. But as we continue here in 2024, stay committed to excelling in the areas where AI will never be able to compete.

That’s how you’ll rise as a leader, a family member, a coach, and a community builder.

That’s all I’ve got for today.

Committed to You, Committed to Excellence!

Ryan DuBois
