AI in business and the absence of emotions - An advantage or a disadvantage?
"The oldest and strongest human emotion is fear, and the oldest and strongest type of fear is the fear of the unknown." - H.P. Lovecraft
When I started my own business, I knew it would be terribly difficult.
Suddenly, everything that was done by entire teams of experienced experts in companies where I worked would be on me.
What I didn't anticipate was how AI tools would enable me to perform certain tasks incomparably faster and more efficiently.
The more I researched these tools, the greater my fascination grew.?
However, I increasingly encountered articles and discussions emphasizing skepticism and concerns about AI's lack of an emotional component.?
The prevailing opinion is that AI will never reach human "perfection" for this reason.
Let's address some of the loudest arguments:
1. "AI can fail to recognize cultural fit, which is very important for hiring success." - Mr Mahendran Dilli, Senior Vice President, RMG & Talent Planning, Indium Software.
Honestly, I don't understand the need to discuss trivialities such as human cognition in managing these tools.?
Everyone knows that what we call artificial intelligence today are simply tools far from being conscious or able to draw their own conclusions.?
Trained, educated people are needed to interpret results, just as they're needed to operate an excavator or interpret psychological measuring instruments.
In terms of recognizing cultural fit, human beings are fallible and prone to subjective judgment due to the halo effect.?
We can optimize AI to work according to certain instructions and principles, but we cannot control our unconscious processes and emotions.
2. "Bias, lack of transparency, and possible infringement of employee rights are some of the major risks associated with AI in HR." - Ramprakash Ramamoorthy, Director of AI research, ManageEngine.
Bias is an exclusively human trait.?
Various tools are used to avoid bias and achieve objectivity, which is a characteristic of reason, while subjectivity is a characteristic of emotions.?
If AI is given the right information, it will not act inconsistently with it. In my experience, there wasn't a single company where I worked that was spared from at least one problem like violation of laws, work regulations, basic human rights, or mobbing - all done by people with emotions.
3. "The lack of human interaction and emotional intelligence is a significant challenge in AI adoption in HR." - Rahul Bhattacharya, EY Global Delivery Services (GDS), GDS Consulting Artificial Intelligence Leader.
The main source of conflict in a working environment is poor systematization of workplaces and the feeling that someone has been unfairly treated.?

If there was a perfectly organized system where everyone KNEW they get exactly what they deserve for their work, conflicts would be almost non-existent, people would be more motivated, and time could be used productively or for socializing.
Speaking of empathy, it's worth noting that psychopathic personality traits are often sought in tests for C-level positions.?
An overly empathetic person might struggle to lead a company in the desired direction. With artificial intelligence, we don't face this dilemma.
Why do people emphasize the lack of emotions in AI as such a flaw and romanticize emotions in the business environment when they are often more toxic and problematic??
Cognitive dissonance protects us from unwanted and hurtful information, selecting information and distorting reality to shield us from negative emotions.
It's time to face our weaknesses and the strengths of artificial intelligence.?
Strength and power lie in a realistic perception of facts, and only the truth enables freedom and control. An excavator can do more than thousands of men put together, but it's the man who pushes the button. It's the same with artificial intelligence.
For socialism in business to be possible and for emotions to be sublime and noble, not toxic and damaging, the system must be perfectly organized.?
For this reason, it's necessary to embrace AI in business as soon as possible, and leave emotions for friends and family.
Positive emotions are the most beautiful thing that exists - noble, divine, liberating, wonderful.?
But unfortunately, the picture of current society clearly shows that negative and unhealthy ones have prevailed.?
Maybe AI is a gift from God and not the work of the Devil as people often write on social media these days.
Think about that.
