To succeed in AI, people and talent is the true differentiator. Obviously, Tech at large is critical and CIOs need to drive a significant part of the AI transformation journey. But: the real difference is made by HR.?You can recode and upgrade your platforms, you can hire new vendors – but in the end the most difficult task is to upskill, recruit, and build a new culture company-wide to embrace and foster the AI transformation journey. Organizations and their teams need to continuously learn how to make the most out of AI (see our 4th?annual report with MIT SMR on how successful companies have deployed “Organization learning” to support effective roll-out of AI). ?
The need for upskilling and reskilling is massive – and workers are fully aware. According to our?2021 Decoding Global Reskilling and Career Paths Study , 41%?percent of workers globally are more concerned about automation now than they were before the pandemic. This is not new:?we’ve had those concerns with any invention that involved technical progress: be it robots, computers, phones, the internet. People were skeptical, repellent – and in the end: all those things created jobs and facilitated our daily work. Yes, some jobs will be shifting – some might be gone. But others will emerge, and all is linked to the right education and adequate retraining:?The secret sauce is?upskilling at scale.

2 年Thanks for Sharing Sylvain. Great article. In my view, any change creates fear especially when it is drastic. AI applications need to be deployed in a progress way, use case by use case where people can see the value it brings and how helpful those applications can be. The fear will then be transformed into excitement and adoption.
