Yesterday I took a chance on AI and here's why I think you should too.
For the first time in forever, I drove to see someone about a social media strategy. The traffic was not kind and one part of the 17-mile journey took an hour! Getting back was just as bad.. BUT face-to-face ALWAYS trumps zoom, skype, zoho or whatever your choice of online communication is.
We chatted over many things and I took copious notes to try and get the feel of the project and visualise what it would take to make a mega campaign. The journey back was just as mad leaving me little time to pull everything together quickly and professionally.
I won't lie, I like an app, and to learn about stuff, and have to stop myself playing Alice and disappearing down rabbit holes exploring. So far with AI I have tried and love both Bard and ChatGPT and have found uses (and limitations) for them. A few weeks ago I pulled myself back from the brink of testing out some new AI in a list of Product Hunt recommends.. and left it as one of many tabs open on my laptop for future tinkering.
As it was great for landing pages and documents I thought what do I have to lose - let's take it for a spin.. and put in all the key points from my notes of what I wanted the proposal to look like.. I had 300 characters so had to edit before I hit go... well!
In less time than the 300 characters took to think through and write I had the layout of something that looked very professional. A few tweaks with layout and pictures and all I now needed to focus on was tweaking and adding content - it did write some which astonished me but obviously, that was down to me.
I probably spent far too much time finding suitable images - nicely provided with a search - to take the edges off and make it more on par with my project but oh my...
I have copied and taken out some of the key parts that identify the client but I now have a lovely layout to amend for the future - which will take even less time.. but to see a client and have a proposal that looks amazing to them by midnight on the afternoon we met is pretty fab in my book. The time stuck in traffic wasn't an issue at all.

This software has loads of uses and is very intuitive - and I most certainly will be using it for many things going forward. Thank Gamma I shall certainly be spending far too much time in that very large rabbit warren.

For anyone fancying a trip down the rabbit hole please tell Alexa to remind you in 30 minutes you have a meeting or you could be there all day.. I have a link for you to try it for free - I also get free credits - https://gamma.app/signup?r=taxiti0svmrgyu1 - but at $16 a month (billed annually) for unlimited use, it is definitely a 24-carat contender. Sometimes it is worth taking a risk and trying new stuff no matter how old or young you are...
