AI + ART + CREATIVITY: The torment of my soul, without which my life would be empty

AI + ART + CREATIVITY: The torment of my soul, without which my life would be empty

It's like a game. Heal your soul from the wounds of your life. Open the #AI #software type a #prompt, click start and get 4, 8, 12, #endless perfect and beautiful images that you could never have created without AI. You feel accomplished. Your #hands have never held a #brush, or a #pencil for more than a few minutes, but today you are able to #create exceptional works of #art.

Which art school taught you to paint like this? I want to learn too... No, in 2022 the race to become an #artist lies in knowing how to use #words, and AI images generation software better than others.

There are many people who have never attended an art school or an Academy of Fine Arts, they have never #painted, #sculpted, #engraved a copper plate, have never studied #anatomy by drawing a naked body... but for everyone the only thing that matters is owning what you create. What I created "It's mine!".

This is an evolving world. And to understand the direction in which it is going, those who have studied art have to sit down for a moment and observer what happens.

To do this, I opened a whatsapp group "Future of Creativity in the XR World", because I wanted to understand new technologies. I've invited some of the brightest #minds and best AI #artists to join this 24/7 #brainstorming session, with participants from all over the world. And I have to thank them all for the #passion with which they manage to carry on the discussion. Because there are so many questions about what we are doing with Artificial Intelligence and AI imaging software… and the one I ask myself most of all is this:

What next? After creating tons of beautiful images, what will we make some? How can I distinguish the valid ones from the invalid ones? Who is making images generated with AI software, does he intend to heal his soul and make them for the pure pleasure of making art, or does he create them for the sole purpose of selling them? And the famous "prompt", which describe the essence of the image generated by AI software, is it right to sell them or not? How much fast?we need to run to stay in fist line?

We create images that we have not made with our hands, which are #randomly generated by #phrases entered into AI software, which to generate the image, pass through #NeuralNetworks which, based on #probability and only after crossing a #LatencyZone (where you don't know what happens!) produce images on which we have little possibility of modifying them unless we use another software.

We think of "prompts" as something we own.

I believe that nothing we are creating is fundamentally ours. The only thing that can differentiate what we are doing is a search path. But this is usually something that belongs to #artists who, tormented in their #souls, seek a solution to their existence throughout their lives, putting pure #passion into the works they create.

The choice is quite simple. And in the #ArtWorld, there's always been this crossroads for an artist: "Do you want to create art to sell it and make #money, or do you want to create art to heal your soul from life's #torment?"

In the first case, you will become #ArtDealers" who simply copy, steal, produce without limits, in order to sell and earn something from their images. In the second case, however, if you do research, you will become an #Artist.

So, to go back to the beginning of this long rant: "How do you distinguish real art from that made only to be sold? True Art has a soul. The rest is something produced by an industry that has found a new way to create a vicious circle based on #money.

Can we use the generated AI software to create "Art"? Yes, you can, if you use these tools, to produce an evolution in your research.

If you need an outspoken art critic, who has not only studied art, but has gone through all stages from analog to digital art, email me. I will be happy to be at your service.

Your words are always great to read. As I’ve mentioned before I’ve made more worthwhile human interactions thanks to “AI Art” than ever in my life. AI has supercharged my abilities not just as an architect, as an artist, but as a human, and in fact it’s supercharged my soul by giving me focus towards new, ever-clearer goals.

Very cool. I wonder if there will ever be VR AI Art... probably not, not enough artists painting in VR. But, I think 3D Model AI art is becoming a thing and that then can be translated into VR Art.

This is wonderful and I think it deserves to be an article. It's not just something to read once and move on from. Lots of big ideas and questions! <3 Nice work Cecilia!
