AI and air-to-air combat

The concept of using AI to create a better fighter isn't new. In fact in June 1972, Lt. Kenneth Levin published his Masters Thesis on AI and air-to-air combat.

I have the first 20 pages of that Thesis printed and prominently displayed on my desk. It's my constant reminder that in the world of machine learning, while there’s lots of pretty new blinking lights, the fundamentals haven’t changed in over 50 years.
