The AI Ad That’s Surprisingly Human
Every time I watch this ad, my eyes tear up.
There’s a scene -?just a moment -?where a dad hugs his teenage daughter as he drops her off at college.?And for a split second, he’s transported back in time. He’s holding her again, but this time, she’s just a little girl. The way she once was. The way she’ll always be in his heart.
As a dad of two young kids, that moment hit me hard.
Fatherhood is a constant push and pull between the past and the present. You’re watching them grow, cheering them on, guiding them forward. But every now and then, a look, a hug, a laugh -?something -?reminds you of who they were. And it stops you in your tracks.
What’s wild is that this incredibly human, deeply emotional ad isn’t selling a story, or a memory, or a feeling. It’s selling AI.
Probably the most touching ad I’ve ever seen… about the least human thing I can think of. And yet, it works.
Why? Because the best AI, the most powerful technology, isn’t just about what it does. It’s about what it enables. And this ad doesn’t show a dad being replaced by AI. It shows a dad being more of a dad -?turning his lived experience into confidence, his skills into words, his memories into motivation.
It’s a brilliant, almost paradoxical reminder:
AI isn’t here to take away our humanity.
It’s here to help us express it.
I think about this a lot -?how AI is changing the way we work, the way we learn, the way we interact. I spend my days building AI-powered businesses and helping people understand how to use this technology. But at the core of it all, the real magic of AI is not in its intelligence. It’s in its ability to amplify ours.
And in that, maybe this ad isn’t ironic at all. Maybe it’s exactly what we need right now -?a reminder that AI, when done right, isn’t about replacing humans. It’s about helping us show up as the best, most capable, and most human versions of ourselves.
And if it makes a dad like me tear up every time? Well, maybe that’s proof it’s working.
Would love to hear from other parents, tech folks, and AI thinkers -?did this ad hit you the same way? How do you see AI enhancing (not replacing) our humanity?
