AHLA, AHLA Foundation Honored at White House with Pledge to America’s Workers Presidential Award

The American Hotel & Lodging Association and the American Hotel & Lodging Foundation were honored at the White House with the Pledge to America’s Workers Presidential Award today. This award recognizes our workforce development efforts to create new and enhanced education and training opportunities for current and future hotel employees.  

Since signing the initial pledge in 2018, AHLA and its Foundation have developed, educated, and certified over 105,000 hotel employees, already fulfilling 80 percent of AHLA’s original commitment to support 130,000 hotel employees over five years. Additionally, nearly $6 million has been invested to support career development programs, degree courses, industry certifications and apprenticeships to support the hotel and lodging industry. 

While we celebrate this recognition, we know that nearly four million hotel jobs remain in jeopardy, and we remain committed to urging the Administration and Congress to come together to immediately pass additional support for the industry.
