Ah Yes! 1Kg for Personal Use
As per media reports, a 34-year-old police officer is currently under investigation due to preliminary findings that suggest his involvement in a drug trafficking scheme. He is suspected of collaborating with his 30-year-old spouse in the alleged operation. It is believed that the couple was procuring amphetamines from the dark web and distributing them to bodybuilders.
The discovery of the purported drug trafficking endeavor involving the couple occurred during an inquiry into suspicious dark web drug transactions. Investigators reportedly linked some of these transactions to the police officer's partner. In February, a search warrant was executed at the couple's residence, resulting in the discovery of roughly one kilogram of amphetamines. Although the exact quantity seized was not disclosed by the Wels public prosecutor's office, it was confirmed to surpass the legal limit - information online was unclear on the amount considered to be legal.
During questioning, the 30-year-old spouse admitted to ordering amphetamines for personal use since 2018. Subsequently, both individuals were arrested and released on bail. On February 16, the state police department temporarily suspended the police officer pending further investigations.
The ongoing inquiries are intended to determine the full scope of the couple's involvement in the drug trafficking operation and to identify their customers. If the police officer is found guilty, he faces the risk of losing his job and pension.
