AGR's 2022 Content Recap!

AGR's 2022 Content Recap!

Now that 2022 has drawn to a close, and we enter a new year, we want to take this opportunity to recap this past year. It was certainly eventful, and the entire supply chain industry faced numerous ups and downs globally.

We’ve included a wealth of information below that we’ve posted throughout the whole of 2022 that we guarantee you can take something from and apply to your supply chain next year, or perhaps you’re just interested in learning some new supply chain tips and tricks.

Read on below for more:

Forecasting & Scenario Planning

A key topic that is at the heart of AGR and a word that you certainly would have heard this year if you’ve been following us, is forecasting. It is something that is at the heart of our system, and a topic that we believe should be an integral part in organising your supply chain.

‘An inventory optimization solution engine, such as our AGR solution, allows you to combine external data with your existing internal data when planning for your supply chain. This creates a unique forecasting and planning system that is tailored to your business needs, taking into account all elements of your customers and their interactions with your business.’

We also wrote about scenario planning and how you can link this to your forecasting:

‘However, the increasing uncertainty and disruption in supply and demand make forecasting challenging. Therefore, we need a different approach, which is where Scenario Planning comes in.’

Inflation

Another massively impactful and important part of 2022 was the increased inflation rate, one that was felt across the globe, from the the rising costs of items such as goods and resources to general living costs.

We wrote:

‘Rising inflation rates can be felt through your supply chain in the rising cost of goods, resources, transport, labor, housing, and services that your company needs to operate. In our latest video, we share some best practices to manage the situation.’

Supply Chain Strategy

Following the impact that inflation had on the supply chain industry, we turned our focus into helping you build your strategy to combat this, and significantly reducing the amount of time you spend on manual processes, to dedicate your time to other areas.

‘Even though a workflow relies heavily on everyone working together, automation relieves the planning team of time-consuming manual processes and allows for real-time or near-real-time work. Also, the erasure of manual processes and opting for an automated system eliminates the space for human error. There are also significant cost savings,?'AGR customers save between 33 and 66 percent on inventory management and 10 to 25 percent on inventory replenishment.’

Another topic that is truly at the heart of AGR is sustainability. While we have countless posts on what sustainability means to us, we also want to encourage others to be more sustainable through persevering within other initiatives.

ABC Analysis

ABC Analysis is another essential part of the AGR system. Earlier this year we wrote:

‘But why is ABC analysis so important? It minimizes the risk of overstocking and obsolete stock. It is not unusual to find that companies are overstocked on C items, the items that contribute the least to their bottom line, while at the same time, they are understocked on A items that contribute the most. Holding unnecessary inventory has a multitude of negative impacts...’

Machine Learning & AI

AI & Machine Learning is another topic that we certainly see ourselves continuing to discuss for the foreseeable future. However, there are many things to consider when it comes to Machine Learning & AI.

We wrote:

‘The application of AI and machine learning is a sector of the supply chain industry that is expanding quickly. Being able to accurately forecast future demand is, after all, the most crucial component of supply chain management because it gives businesses a competitive edge and raises their yearly revenue. But it is not always as simple as implementing this technology which is typically expensive as well as time consuming.’

Finally, as we approached the holiday season, we turned our attention to how you can plan better for major shopping events and the benefits of having your affairs in order, so you’re not overwhelmed by the sale seasons in the future.

‘November is the time when most consumers will do some, if not all, their holiday shopping. So, the stakes are huge, with many businesses generating their highest sales of the year on Black Friday. However, there is potential for downfall. People will be spending their money, and if they don’t find what they are looking for with one business, they will move on to the next one. The potential risks and rewards create significant challenges for supply chain management and make accurate promotional planning even more critical.’
