Agribusiness as the new gold mine

By the way after graduating from the university I got an opportunity to work on a construction project where I was earning some good amount of money of which I used to buy land in the village which has been lying idle since then, recently following the NSSF webinars ,I listened to Dr Ian Clarkes testimony ?about his farming journey and? got impressed and vowed to start my own farm which I have named NKERA FARMS LIMITED with the little that I have, starting with only 200 trees of coffee and in a period of 10 years our farm will have expanded and earning us some good money. More to that, last week I had a conversation with a colleague of mine who is into tomato growing and I was blown away by what he is doing on his 2-acre firm where he earns 2.5 million per harvest only from the tomatoes and how many Ugandan youths are earning such money?

I have come to realise that it’s the inability of our minds to think outside the box and start some income generating activities and stop languishing in poverty yet we have resources at our disposal. If the Agribusiness sector is tackled positively, it can end poverty in this country as famers earn enough income to help them develop themselves thus developing the whole country.
