AGRI DRONE SHOW NIGERIA 2024: THE IMPACT STORY.

A few days before the event, Mr. Femi Adekoya (Managing Director of IAPrecision) and representatives from the FUNAAB UAV Committee Prof Dedeke and Dr. John Oyedepo appeared on the radio station of the host school (FUNAAB 89.5) to create broader awareness and generate excitement among the local community.

Over 500 registered participants and more than 30 dedicated volunteers joined forces to make the Agri Drone Show Nigeria a reality. The volunteers played a crucial role in media coverage, registration, logistics, ushering, and technical support, ensuring a seamless event. The show commenced at 1:00 PM with a patriotic ceremony, featuring the national anthem, school anthem, and pledge.

The event commenced with a warm welcome address followed by an inspiring speech from the university's Vice-Chancellor. The Vice-Chancellor encouraged the students to embrace this cutting-edge technology, promising the university's full support in making it accessible and fostering new opportunities.

The event featured a captivating blend of informative presentations and interactive demonstrations, providing attendees with a comprehensive understanding of the transformative potential of drone technology in agriculture. We had over 500 registered participants witness first-hand applications of how drones will shape the future of Agriculture, with swift solutions that save time and cost.

In the address of the University Vice-Chancellor Professor Olusola Babatunde Kehinde, he attests the fact that drone technology is a game changer in various works of life. And importantly in Agriculture, it can be leveraged to cause rapid transformation for Sustainable Agriculture.

He mentioned the University community is embracing this technology, not just adopting it but turning the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta Ogun State into a drone technology Hub in Nigeria and Africa, by imbibing this into the academic curriculum, we students will learn technologies that will make them relevant for the future of work in Agriculture.

Also from Mr. Wunna, the DJI representative to Nigeria mentioned that through the partnership between DJI Agriculture and Integrated Aerial Precision, Agriculture practices in Nigeria and Africa can tremendously change through the digital drone technology.

And DJI Agriculture is ready to give a full hand of support to the institution so as to concurrently facilitate quality industry based training that prepares the student to be able to solve real life problems with digital precision technologies like drones for Agriculture.
