Agreement & Certainty Matrix 45 mins : A Liberating Structures Menu
Concept is based on, how we can help an individual or a group to solve the problem by answering two questions:
1. What is the degree of agreement of participants on a solutions?
2. What is the degree of certainty on the future outcomes?
Here,
Problems are divided into 4 categories
- Simple : Easily solvable using practices. Individual can solve it on its own.
- Complicated : Need more efforts to solve the problem. Need an expert.
- Complex : Need efforts and have to go through many challenges to solve the problem.
- Chaotic : Need to go through a lot of irritation and need a lot of patience to solve the problem.
How to perform this process of Agreement and Certainty Matrix?
Step1, Invite participants or group. Ask them to categorize their problem as Simple, Complicated, Complex and Chaotic. 5 mins
Step2,Ask them to write their problems in the matrix form paper. 5 mins
Step3, Ask participants to discuss the problem in pair (group of 2 participants). 5 mins
Step4, Make a group of 4 and discuss the points of agreement and find out the differences and check where are the mismatches. 10 mins
Step5, Ask participants to post their challenges on a wall matrix. 5 mins
Step6, Ask participants to make a small groups to observe mismatches which we should address. 5 mins
Step7, Invite all groups to share their understanding and decide next steps. 10 mins
Tips
Write-down the mismatches and action will be taken in one table
Avoid more judgments.
