  • This agreement aims to promote responsible and sustainable practices, optimize operations, and enhance the productivity of mining companies in the African nation.

Malaga, June 2024. To continue its international expansion and positively impact the global mining sector, Stockholm Precision Tools (SPT) has signed a distribution agreement with Africa Geo-Log & Survey (AGS).

For thirty years, SPT has been a global leader in the design and manufacture of directional survey tools for mining exploration projects. With this new agreement, the distribution of its solutions in Ghana will be managed by AGS, a Ghanaian company that rents and sells directional and downhole survey tools to the mining, civil engineering, and oil & gas industries.

This company is managed by Kwaku Dwomo Owusu, a geologist with a vast background in mining, corporate management, and international commerce; essential factors for raising AGS’s profile in the directional drilling tools market in Ghana and the subregion.

“This partnership with SPT gives AGS the opportunity to offer high-quality tools to our customers. By generating precise data for field decision making, providing 24/7 technical support, and offering consulting services related to directional surveying, we will ensure excellent service to mining companies in Ghana,” said Kwaku Owusu, CEO of AGS.

Africa is considered the world’s great mine, containing one-third of the planet’s mineral reserves. Ghana, in particular, is rich in gold, making it a strategic point for the industry on the continent. This partnership is an opportunity to boost and stimulate the country’s economic growth through the incorporation of state of the art technology backed by expert drilling and geological professionals.

“The precision and effectiveness of our directional survey tools solutions support the adoption of responsible practices that lessen the environmental impact of mining companies during exploration, ensuring sustainability and safety, in addition to optimizing their operations and boosting productivity,” remarks Eric Estrada, Global Marketing and Sales Director at SPT.
