Aglet Ink Services for 2023 and 2024
Reeti Roy is a creative entrepreneur. She is the Founder and CEO of Aglet Ink, a creative content services firm that helps craft resumes, cover letters, linkedin profiles, website content and speechwriting services. Reeti commenced her career as a research assistant to Professor Anya Schiffrin from SIPA (Columbia University), where she researched press censorship laws and the Bengal Famine. She was then chosen to work as a LAMP (Legislative Assistant to a Member of Parliament) Fellow at PRS Legislative Research, and was deputed to work with Dr. Shashi Tharoor, former UN-Under- Secretary General, Member of Parliament (Lok Sabha) and Minister of State for Human Resource Development.
Aglet Ink has helped over 100,000 people in India through direct and indirect resources. In 2019, Reeti was named one of 19 Women of Worth by Outlook Business Magazine, while Aglet Ink has been hailed one of 10 innovative start-ups to watch out for by CXO Outlook Magazine in 2021. Reeti is also a beneficiary of certification and training provided by Empretec India and United Nations Conference on Trade and development (UNCTAD), which was funded by of the West Bengal State Government (IBAC).
In her role as a LAMP fellow, Reeti’s Responsibilities included drafting parliamentary questions, private member bills, 377s, zero-hour speeches and other parliamentary legislative research work. Reeti has also worked at Harvard Business School’s India Research Centre as a Casewriter and Researcher, at Pratham Education foundation as a Communications Associate, at Columbia University’s Global Center as a Senior Programme Officer, and with UNICEF as a documentation consultant on the Deepshikha Project, aimed at empowering adolescent girls and young women’s groups to play an active role in their own development through income generation and economic activities, while actively contributing to the growth and development of their communities.
Reeti graduated from Jadavpur University with high first-class honours in English Literature (GPA 9/10) and with a Master’s Degree in Social Anthropology from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).Over the years, Reeti has been generously supported by the Charles Wallace India Trust Scholarship (2010), The Choice Fellowship from the Seagull Foundation for the arts, The LAMP fellowship from PRS Legislative Research, The Matador Network Travel Writing Scholarship, the Goethe-Institut/Zubaan Books Children Understand More fellowship, the Vonda N. Mcintyre Sentient Squid Scholarship four times, the Ann Mclaughlin Scholarship, the Grubstreet Scholarship, Codes, Creativity Communities (C3) by Goethe Institut and Be Fantastic and been a Grant recipient from K Tempest Bradford.
She has also served as Guest Faculty at the Indian Institute of Management IM Lucknow and IIM Calcutta, and as a creative consultant for the British Council. Reeti’s awards for Aglet Ink include the Digital Women’s Award in the Category of Content (innovation) by Shethepeople TV (2017), a Special Mention at the Young Achiever’s awards (the Vision India Foundation) for contribution to education and nation-building (2017), the Orange Flower award for inspiring woman entrepreneur – one of five finalists (2018), and as one of eighteen Women Of Worth (2019) by Outlook Business Magazine. Reeti was also one of three awardees out of 1,300 applicants at the Study UK Alumni Awards (2021) in the Entrepreneurial category. Her latest award is from Women Economic Forum (Iconic Women Creating a Better World For All) in December 2022.
As an editor, Reeti has worked with Rupa Publications, Hachette, Harlequin Press and Yourstory.Outside of her work as an editor, Reeti has contributed to publications such as The Telegraph (Calcutta), The Statesman (Calcutta), The Times of India, Femina, Tehelka, Chicken Soup for The Indian Soul and Northern Lights (an Edinburgh Publication), Newslaundry and Mail Today.
Reeti is also an award winning tour guide, having worked on Projects with Seeksherpa, The Sahapedia- UNESCO walks festival, been hailed as one of 7 Unofficial Cultural Ambassadors by Midday, and winning for most innovative walk – National Heritage Walk Contest, a collaboration between India City Walks (a three-time national-award winning brand recognised by the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India and the Indian Institute of Tourism and Travel, and a commissioned Music Critic with bylines in the Quint and Score Magazine. Her fiction and non-fiction have also been published by the Outlook Magazine.
