Agilify the world

Agilify the world

Agile is Chaos, agile is unpredictable and agile is nothing for regulated companies.

Let’s talk about chaos first.

If a company transfers from the traditional methodology - mostly waterfall - into an agile company, then most of the department think, that they are not part of the transformation. They expect traditional big documents, the traditional time slots, milestones.

But they do not exist!

In an agile world, big documents, the milestones and Gant boards do not exist.

What a chaos!

Everybody can do what he would like to do and when he would like to do it. The outcome is not predictable. We do not know when a product is ready or when a new feature will be implemented.

The truth is: from Top Management to the agile teams, everybody understands why a new product will be built and what the value is. The teams organize themselves to predict the work they can do. This flows immediately back into the Top Management status overview. You can tell within 2-3 iterations whether the project is on track and whether it will be completed as planned. This is more predictable then working for 6 months before reporting back to the management. The customer is part of the process. And gives feedback – every 2 weeks – to make sure the delivery is 100% what has been requested. Mistakes or wrong paths can be changed and corrected after 2 weeks.

Next to come - What about agile in regulated companies?

I am co-organizing Meetups for Agile enthusiasts.
