In a DevOps world Agile is king. Speed to market. Fewer errors. Customer value. Try deploying a complex off-the-shelf system or SaaS using an SI (systems integrator) or the vendor’s professional services team and you’ll be presented with a traditional waterfall project plan. It’s also common to see a hybrid approach, where the overall framework is waterfall, but build/test/deploy is executed as a series of agile-style sprints complete with daily stand-ups.
