We see a focus on Agile and Servant leadership as organizations struggle with braking down silos, focus on transformation and attempt to engage the business, operational and technical groups with in the organization in fast fluid processes. The opened the office, took away walls and desk and created a physical space for collaboration - did that achieve collaboration and inclusion? It is time to do the human work which requires time and investment of self and patience to achieve shifts. How does that live in a fail fast forward environment? Being agile and behaving as a servant leader requires the ability to listen, question, understand, connect and engage to highlight a few areas.
Lets talk about conversational Leadership! Leaders drive culture and influence behavior, climate and conversation. They ask and are present for meaningful conversations. They will challenge thinking, mindset, interactions and behaviors of themselves and others in reference to what you say you desire and are required to evidence to perform and compete in your market. They are socially and emotionally engage with the ability to gather data and insight then influence and impact change. They are agile leaders who serve through conversation with and understanding of others.
What do you want the world to say about you, your people and types of talent attracted to your organization? There is vast data in asking thoughtful questions and then listening and making connections to what is being said. How you act and interact directly will influence the ripple you project.
How can I be so confident in this statement? I talk to your people everyday as a Leadership Coach and Consultant and I listen to what challenges them to show up as their best version. Start having real conversations about your future vision & projects in real time and then dig into what currently supports and serve it and what is old habit getting in the way. Meetings are not required to talk to people. Have a conversation. Enjoy the journey! Jacquelyn
