Over the past few weeks ago, I've posted selected insights on the trending topic of #AgileProductDelivery on my profile. Before I move to the next topic, I want to share this listicle with you – including some valuable links – and?dive a bit deeper into the topic.
| In episode 11 of my videocast Running Digital Transformation, I talk to Moritz Mann, founder of the agency?Protofy, about how to develop digital products with a focus on customer-centricity. We discuss if digital business ideas can be realized much faster than is often assumed. Moritz knows this from his own experience: For his start-up?STADTSALAT, it took him only four days between the launch of the website and the sale of the first salad. From there, he further developed and optimized it with the help of customer feedback and the associated data – a remarkable approach that some transforming companies can learn a lot from. ?? 2 | According to an article published in?Harvard Business Review, approximately half of the organizations that undertake?#AgileProductDelivery?fail. Journalist?Timothy R. Clark?wanted to know why, and conducted a series of interviews with leading agile experts: “The primary factor is disregard for the first value of the Agile Manifesto: ‘Individuals and interactions over processes and tools.'” ???https://bit.ly/37ieiZ9
| "Being truly agile is about more than stand-up meetings and iteration cycles." This quote comes from a highly recommendable article on?#AgileProductDelivery?by journalist?Rich McEachran. As much as the pandemic has acted as a catalyst toward greater agility in companies, it has become even more apparent that many companies that claim to be agile don't even know what that actually means. One major misunderstanding: Agile methods are not a panacea and not all areas of a company are suitable for them. ???https://hbr.org/2022/02/agile-doesnt-work-without-psychological-safety
| What does digital transformation look like in a state-owned corporation? Is governance at odds with agility? I talk about this with?Harriet Wirth, Product Owner Transformation at?KfW, in episode 12 of my videocast?#RunningDigitalTransformation. Harriet shares in detail how steering and resource committees have been eliminated in favor of faster decision-making. ?? And here's the full episode.
| Responding flexibly and dynamically to change should not only be a task for companies undergoing transformation, but also for countries - as the coronavirus pandemic in particular has shown. Countries need to be able to be agile and quickly implement new strategies and solutions based on new information. That’s why US News & World Report has compiled a list of the top agile nations. This is intended to provide an important compass in terms of security, especially for travelers. The USA, Australia, and Canada top the list, Germany is also among the top ten.????https://lnkd.in/enPH5Mez?

| Many companies are still finding it difficult to push ahead with digitization. They see the biggest challenges in the complex conversion of existing systems and processes. This was the finding of a survey by the DIHK (Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce), which polled more than 4,200 companies from eight different sectors of the economy on their digitization status. The complex changeover (39%) is followed by a lack of time resources (36%) and high investment costs (34%) as barriers to digitization. Despite intensive digitization efforts, many companies are still finding it difficult to close the gap with the digital champions. What gives me confidence is that the companies have recognized their own tasks: For example, 66 percent of respondents want to advance the digital mindset, and over half (57%) want to train their employees in the use of digital technologies. ???https://lnkd.in/ge_YJU2v
| A switch to an agile working method isn’t sensible for every company. This article from the FAZ highlights the cultural and organizational hurdles and the important role that managers play. After all, they often have a harder time dealing with agility than the employees. ?? https://bit.ly/3rTxLHc
| In the first episode of my videocast Running Digital Transformation, I spoke with Vodaphone CIO Ulrich Irnich about Agile Product Delivery. Among other things, we talked about customer centricity, the introduction of scaled frameworks and why not every new idea should be implemented as a big bang. ?? https://bit.ly/3LxrvwF
| The Lünendonk special analysis "Agile Transformation" offers exciting insights into the topic of #AgileProductDelivery. According to this analysis, organizational restructuring and cultural change are the greatest challenges facing companies. Another interesting finding is that while agile method competence among managers is already quite high, there is still a need to catch up when it comes to implementing agile methods. This discrepancy between Doing Agile and Being Agile is demonstrated by the fact that while two-thirds of top management is driving the agile transformation forward, only 58 percent exemplifies the agile approaches themselves. ?? https://bit.ly/3Mugvjt
| Companies that can scale digital solutions achieve short-term revenue, cost, and speed advantages: In the past two years of the pandemic, these digital pioneers have increased their market share by 5 percentage points and their market capitalization by 5 percent compared to their competitors. However, a BCG study of around 2,000 companies worldwide shows that only around 30 percent were able to scale digital projects, achieving revenue increases of up to 25 percent and cost reductions of up to 28 percent. ?? https://on.bcg.com/3rQL0bq
