AGILE MINDSET is the need of the hour. Are you ready for the Change ?

Change is inevitable and is the only constant in any journey (personal / professional / organization). While Change is inevitable. we all fear and resist change. Now this resisting of change doesn't help but creates problems for us. The organizations that didn't embrace the change were changed or vanished. There are so many companies that used to be the strongest at one point and today, we don't even see them other than in history.
So, the fact is Change is inevitable. We can build a future if we keep evolving and changing. People and organizations that keep basking in the glory of past are not going to re-invent and that will lead to either struggle or dissemination.
Most successful people / companies are so attached to the past glory and success that they feel there is nothing that can affect them and they are above the issues of the world and surroundings, this is why they don't think of changing and fall apart.
The burning question is: Why are they unable to see that they are going to face challenges in future. After working with multiple organizations that failed to change or embraced the process of change very late in the journey, my observation is summarized in the attached slide
The inability to escape the past is generally supplemented with the inability to re-invent the future. If any company or individual feels they are invincible, they are not going to look at rebuilding their FUTURE. Main reasons of not being able to re-invent the future is rooted in the LEADERSHIP style. Move from Micro-managing and Command & Control to Servant Leadership. You will see marvels unfolding around you.
As a Leader, can you see if the organization is moving on the curve from Good to Bad to Worse? Usually there are clear symptoms and if there is enough awareness, we can see this fall coming. The symptoms are very clear and visible
Why do companies or individuals fall in this trap? Research shows that people driving the organization forget the core-purpose and vision of the organization. Thus it is usually a good practice to pause every now and then to remember and remind GOAL / OBJECTIVE / CORE-PURPOSE ???
If a company is PRO-ACTIVE, they don't face this challenge as they are always re-building their future, they are focused on re-inventing themselves, looking at new opportunities, looking at building new ways. They are not just improving their products / services / offerings, they are always on the journey of continuous improvement and thus critical of their process and delivery methodology. These companies are AGILE, they are always looking at their customer's needs and watching the changing market scenarios.
So, is there no hope for the REACTIVE companies ?? Well, the answer is, there is always hope !! If we know what to change. The need of the hour is AGILE MINDSET. Remember, AGILITY is not just for IT shops. It is not a way to manage projects. It is not a fad. AGILITY is a MINDSET.
So, the question is: How do we get there? The answers my seem to be simple and basic. Start focusing on WHY over HOW. Be AGILE, ready and willing to change with the changing needs of customers, regulations, environment and above all focus on the PEOPLE !!
Adapting to CHANGE is not easy, but it doesn't necessarily have to be painful. Adapting to change can be a beautiful journey. Seek help of experts. There are Consultants, Coaches and Mentors who can help the organization to get back on the graceful journey of SUCCESS.
