To be successful in Agile transformations, Agile Delivery People Skills are critical than never, why?
As we expect change in behaviors, ways of working and the teams to be Self-Organizing, empowered, pull the work and list goes on. So, with Agile ways of working IQ is important and helps to do Agile, but for being Agile EQ is must.?
Emotional Intelligence/EQ gives you an evidence-based framework that helps you show up as the best version of yourself. So, it’s critical skill that Agile managers/Coaches/Scrum Masters to focus and continuously evolve to improve their EQ and teams EQ
Let’s review given below scenario and reflect on ourselves how we react, if that’s not the best behavior, what to be done…. Sounds interesting to know, let’s learn
Business Scenario
Consider the following scenario:
???????You have a very important agile retrospective meeting with your client, and it is mandatory for your team member to be available for that meeting
???????You have reminded your team member about the meeting 3-4 times
???????In-spite of multiple reminders, your teammate comes late to this meeting
What would be your first reaction, the moment you see him?
Thinking Brain Vs Emotional Brain | Never let your emotional brain hijack thinking brain
What to do in such a situation?
Waiting for just six seconds causes the brain chemicals that cause amygdala hijacking to diffuse away
???????If you don’t wait for them to diffuse away, they would stay in your body for a longer time.
???????It could be for 2 mins, 2 hours, 2 months or sometimes even for 2 years, depending on the intensity

Breathe deeply or Focus on a pleasant image
???????Helps to prevent your amygdala from taking control and causing an emotional reaction
Don’t React, Respond. In reactions emotions dominant, in response intellect dominants.
When we shift from reactions to response, we are changing our ways of behaving and that connects to Neuroplasticity.
Neuroplasticity can be viewed as a general umbrella term that refers to the brain's ability to modify, change, and adapt both structure and function throughout life and in response to experience
When we learn something new, our brains form new pathways and connections. So, our focus is to build stronger, healthier thought circuits, our old, negative ones begin to fade.
Our new behavior becomes Second Nature
As experts says, EI can be taught and developed, above is one of such examples which can be learned, practiced.
So, it’s evident how critical is EI, always keep in your focus, learn, practice, reflect and evolve to be a happy and successful Servant Leader
