Agile Magic Bullet?

Times and times again, we have been reading about what is the Best Agile Framework, what is the best to way scale agile, what is the solution I have to buy to be Agile, in a way... This leads to the article question...

What is the Agile Magic Bullet?

Well, for me, there is none, i.e., there is no "turnkey solution" to Agile or Agility.

Let me built up on this for a bit.?

Probably most of use already heard stories, that a given team or organization adopted some framework, and started to be more agile.?And probably, we also heard that some team or organization, tried something and failed to become more Agile. This brings me to the following universal claim, "what works for me, may now work for my neighbor."?

And this is what troubles me, and makes me think. I do realize that we are most likely to have reached the far end of the X-axis of the gaussian distribution. But even with that in mind, there should not be the amount of search for "turnkey solution" regarding Agile as there is.

But first things first, as usually should be, is to ask, do really you want to be agile? Do you really want to enable team(s) to be agile ? Do you really want your team(s) or organization to thrive in Agile?? I do assume that most answers would be yes to this questions.

Which brings me, to what I like to call the Big Ice Wall, in a form of question.? Are you able to incorporate the Agile Manifesto Values and principles into your mind, behaviors and actions? This is the base of it all, if you answer yes, there will be for sure a way to bring Agility into your team(s) or organization, you just need to find a great "Commander" to help you keep your ship in the right path of the journey.

If the answer is no, or somewhere between the "yes" and "no", well that means that more than a great "commander",?you will need to find a way with your commander's help, to plant rock solid foundations on Agile Values and Principles within your team(s) or organization. And after a while, you will be able to turn a "no" into a "yes", and the something between the "yes" and "no" finally towards the "yes".

Ultimately, returning to the article title, what is the Magic Agile Bullet??My Answer is, the people within teams and organizations. Agile for me, is all about people, the mindset, the human behaviors and actions supporting the Agile Manifesto Values and Principles, and the living human culture of an organization that allows it.

Then just select the framework?that best serves your team and organization, and from that moment on, I strongly believe and that magic will become a never ending journey.

PS - Notice that I never wrote that it would be a smooth Journey. It will most probably have ups and downs, but surely the ups will overcome the downs.
