"True leadership is building new leaders." — Anonymous
At Agile Network India we live by this principle. Our mission is to bring the best content to the community and foster networking, learning, and sharing of information, knowledge, and skills.
On November 22nd and 23rd, we achieved a significant milestone with our first-ever Lean Agile Conference in Ahmedabad. This event was co-hosted by SILVER OAK UNIVERSITY and proudly sponsored by Boostaro . It was a culmination of meticulous planning, tireless efforts from volunteers, and an unwavering commitment to excellence
Here are my key takeaways and aha moments from this inspiring experience:
1. “You can move Mount Everest if we all work together.”
This conference was a shining example of the power of collaboration. Volunteers from Ahmedabad and across India worked tirelessly to bring the event to life. From planning the schedule to setting up the venue and welcoming participants, every step required teamwork and coordination.
Seeing individuals from diverse backgrounds come together with a shared vision was inspiring. It reminded me that no challenge is too big when people unite with a common goal. As I looked around at the smiling faces and the seamless execution of the event, I couldn’t help but think: This is what collective effort looks like.
2. “Innovation happens when diverse minds connect.”
One of the most impactful moments of the conference was the workshop I facilitated, bringing together students and industry experts. The goal was to plot a value stream, identify bottlenecks, and propose optimizations.
What stood out was the diversity of the group. Students brought fresh perspectives, unburdened by conventional thinking, while industry experts contributed real-world experience from sectors like e-commerce, manufacturing, and banking. This unique mix sparked ideas that wouldn’t have emerged in isolation.
3. “Not everything needs AI—sometimes, manual effort is the game changer.”
During the workshop, a student eagerly asked, "Can we use AI to generate ideas?" While AI can be an amazing tool, I decided to say no. Initially, this decision didn’t sit well with the team—they felt restricted.
However, as the workshop progressed, their mindset began to shift. Forced to carefully analyze every step of the value stream without shortcuts, they discovered opportunities for optimization they hadn’t considered.
At the end of the session, one of the students approached me and said, "I’m so glad you didn’t let us use AI. This process made us think deeply, and now we have practical ideas to reduce costs." This experience reinforced an important lesson: while AI is valuable, it should complement human effort, not replace it entirely.
4. “Networking sparks Opportunities.”
One of the biggest benefits of attending conferences like this is the opportunity to network. Over two days, I had the chance to meet passionate individuals from various industries, exchange ideas, and discuss challenges.
Networking doesn’t just expand your professional circle; it broadens your perspective. It’s in these informal exchanges that some of the most impactful ideas are born. Few conversations have already started building future roadmaps!
Conclusion
Agile Network India is more than just a community—it’s a catalyst for learning, sharing, and growing. The Lean-Agile Conference in Ahmedabad was a testament to what we can achieve when we come together.
If you haven’t yet joined this vibrant community, I encourage you to do so. Whether you’re looking to learn, collaborate, or inspire, Agile Network India offers the perfect platform to elevate your journey.
Together, let’s continue building leaders and driving innovation.
