You might think from the title I’m talking about God’s angels, His messengers. No, I am referring to you and me: we are agents of God. One of the reasons God gives us a healthy and energetic life is so we function as His ambassadors by sharing our gospel story and bringing as many people as possible with us to heaven. Romans 10:13-14: “For ‘Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.’ But how can they call on Him to save them unless they believe in Him? And how can they believe in Him if they have never heard about Him? And how can they hear about Him unless someone tells them?” There are countless people living in sin with no care or regard for the forgiveness of God. They fail to respond to His gracious invitation of redemption as found in the gospel, leaving them without hope nor any part in the new heaven, new earth, or new Jerusalem in eternity’s future. They have become hardened in their unbelief and sin, thus eliminating all hope after death of entrance into heaven unless they change course. 1 John 3:8:“The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil's work.” The ultimate spiritual rebellion is refusing to accept God’s gracious offer of salvation through Jesus Christ. It makes you wonder if they truly understand there isn’t another path to heaven and there are no exceptions: they can’t argue, sneak, or bribe their way in. ?Ever! We don’t want this destiny to happen to anyone. James 5:20: “remember this: Whoever turns a sinner from the error of their way will save them from death and cover over a multitude of sins.” The Scripture encourages us to pray for and seek to bring back any who have fallen away. As agents of God, our faith testimony might prevent another’s permanent and tragic decision of refusing Jesus’ forgiveness of sin. Jeremiah 3:22: “My wayward children,” says the Lord, “come back to Me, and I will heal your wayward hearts.” You see, God is always giving the lost an invitation to come back to Him. Titus 2:13-14: “… our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own.” God’s commitment to a relationship with people is so strong that He allowed His only Son to die for all humanity and offers the gift of salvation to all who receive Him. 1 John 1:9: “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” As agents of God, we can assure all unbelievers that when they commit to following Jesus as their Lord and Savior, that He commits to watch out for them, care for?them, and lead them according to His will for their life.
