Agency FTW! Boost Your Clients' Conversions By Optimizing Images (And Using The Responsive Images Attribute, "srcset")

Long page load times tend to lead to decreases in conversions. By optimizing images, you can decrease your page load times and increase conversions.

Optimizing Images

There are a number of image optimization options for your team; some are free, web-hosted services, while others are tools that can be incorporated into automated workflows/build steps. By reducing the size of image files, these services/tools help pages to load faster.

"srcset"

The responsive images attribute -- srcset -- allows browsers to examine a list of possible image files and choose the best size to retrieve. By creating multiple versions of images to fit various screen sizes (and using the srcset attribute), you can ensure that users' devices are retrieving the most appropriately-sized version of every image, which also reduces page load times.
