What’s Better for Longevity? Low-Carbs or Low-Fat? …
… A long-term study that was focused on low-carbs versus low-fat diets reveals that the secret to a healthier, longer life could lie in eating high-quality foods instead of cutting carbs or fats (study ).
Consider this: those who included more plant protein, unsaturated fats, and high-quality carbs (like fruits, legumes, whole grains, and non-starchy vegetables) in their diets had lower mortality rates … independent from low-carbs or low-fat.
The researchers defined ‘low-carbohydrate diet’ so different from others (up to 57% in comparison to max 26% or less than 130 mg/day (study )) that the actual comparison of the different diets becomes almost meaningless.
So, here's a bite-sized action for today: Evaluate your meals. Prioritize plant proteins and high-quality carbs. This tweak could boost your entrepreneurial stamina and lifespan.
Try it and let me know how it goes. Remember, find what works for you!
Relaxing with ADHD Looks Different …
… If you’ve got ADHD or know somebody with ADHD, you know that typical ways of relaxing like just sitting at a beach, staring at the water or lying in a hammock and watching a sunset, or being told by your acupuncturist to just switch off for the next half hour while the needles do their work becomes boring very quickly.
And it actually takes us effort to relax … so quite the opposite of what we want.
Earlier this week I watched a video from Jessica @ How to ADHD (I highly recommend her channel). And what she said made a lot of sense to me:
Maybe it’s not actual relaxation we need but rather a break from self-regulation, a break from doing the ‘right’ thing, the thing that is expected from an adult.
So, what could you or the person in your life that has ADHD do? … Here are a few ideas …
Let go of some aspects of self-regulation. This could be changing your sitting position more often or walking around during a meeting. It could be telling the other person that you won’t be able to hold back your comments on what the other person is saying until that person is finished. Or maybe you ensure that you’ve got some space to yourself where you can do whatever you want.
Switch to something else. If your head is buzzing too much, you’re starting to get overwhelmed, do something different. You could go off and do a language lesson on Duolingo, watch Jessica’s video (or any other), read a few pages of a book or listen to a chapter of an audio book, or something else that is on your bucket list of things you want to do. Do not do social media or anything else that might just suck you in for the next hour or so. Choose wisely.
Plan to have ‘No plan times’. We usually fill any time that becomes available to us with something new. Just going with the flow is often more enjoyable though as we don’t put ourselves under the same pressure. So, instead of filling your evenings or your weekends or holidays with specific things you want to do, just see how you feel in the moment. I, for instance, often find myself doing something I had put on the bucket list for what I wanted to do for business at some time later (because I couldn’t squeeze in yet another thing into my already busy schedule). But doing this ad hoc just because I felt like it gives me tremendous satisfaction because I’m well ahead, it was cool to do it, and because I wasn’t ‘officially’ working, it didn’t feel like work at all. It helped me relax!
Let your thought whiz around in your head. Give them the freedom to go wherever they want to go. Go for a walk, a swim, to a sauna, or anything or anywhere else where you can let your thoughts fly.
See what other ways you can come up with that help you relax your ADHD way.

Sunbathing is healthier for you than you might think, as I have shared on the Jeunessima.com .
Sunlight and vitamin D have innumerable health benefits, some of which are to reduce your risk of a variety of cancers, lift depression, increase your immune defenses. It may also protect against diabetes, heart disease, and high blood pressure.?
Nevertheless, it is necessary to prepare your skin for the sun to profit from all the sun’s healing properties. From the inside out.
One of the key elements that helps with your sun protection and safe sunbathing is melanin. Melanin is produced by the skin when you expose yourself to the sun and then acts as protection.
There are certain nutrients that your body needs to support melanin production.
As a nutritionist I was impressed by a program that I had used for the first time when I went to Greece a few years ago. I wanted to come back with a beautiful tan, lots of vitamin D, and all the other health benefits of the sun. And it worked!
