Hi there, Artificial Intelligence (#AI) has become the number one topic since the AI chatbot #ChatGPT has attracted 100 million people in just 2 months !!! and new tools & approaches are being announced every single day. This week alone, Microsoft announced a new Bing & Google announced Bard, both intending to integrate a chatbot in their search engines.

As a futurist, I’ve been looking at AI for a while. So, it was quite natural to attend the World Artificial Intelligence Cannes Festival (#WAICF) over the last few days to see what can help business women, entrepreneurs, and leaders like you in your effort to understand the pros & cons of AI better and how it can help you stay healthy, perform at your best, and improve aging.?

Before I dive into some takeaways & food for thought, let me briefly talk about what AI is. If you ask ChatGPT, you’ll get an answer like this:

AI (Artificial Intelligence) refers to the creation of computer systems that mimic human intelligence and perform tasks like visual perception, speech recognition, decision-making, and language translation.

Machine learning, a subset of AI, involves the use of algorithms and statistical models that allow systems to improve their performance over time by learning from data.

Other technologies related to AI include expert systems and NLP (Natural Language Processing), which involve computer systems that can perform tasks requiring human expertise and understand, interpret, and generate human language respectively. In short, AI involves developing computer systems to augment or replicate human intelligence and perform a variety of tasks.

So, what does that mean for your health and longevity?

You Are Already Using AI …

… Many experts at the WAICF Conference have pointed out that we’re already using AI.

Here are some examples …

  • AI-powered home health devices like smart scales, blood pressure, and blood glucose monitors to track and monitor various #health metrics from the comfort of your own home
  • Wearable devices?such as fitness trackers and smartwatches help you monitor your sleep, heart rate, steps taken, calories burned, temperature, stress levels, and so much more. Some devices even use AI to detect early signs of illnesses or chronic conditions, such as sleep apnea
  • Wellness #apps?often use data from your wearables to track your physical activity, sleep patterns, dietary habits, menstruation cycle, … and give you personalized recommendations and insights, such as meal planning and nutrition advice, time to go to bed, …
  • Vaccines & other medications that have been developed using AI. The Covid vaccine is just one example
  • AI-powered beauty & personal care products, including smart mirrors and skin analysis devices, can monitor and improve the health of your skin and give you real-time insights and personalized recommendations for skin care and beauty treatments. More and more skincare products are developed using AI. My favorite, OneSkin, for instance, used AI when they discovered a unique peptide that keeps our skin healthier and younger
  • Mental health apps can help monitor symptoms and provide access to guided meditations and breathing exercises
  • Health & wellness services like virtual health, nutrition, and fitness coaches can help you achieve your health and wellness goals with personalized recommendations
  • Medical Treatments?are increasingly based on AI to personalize treatments for cancers and other health issues. Two brain-related solutions I found at the conference were EEG headsets combined with applications and even Virtual Reality that can diagnose your emotions, ADHD, depression, and other mental health challenges … and then treat you with personalized non-invasive methods like biofeedback
  • AI-powered #telemedicine platforms can help triage patients, connect you with the best healthcare professional for you, provide diagnosis and treatment recommendations, and even support remote monitoring of chronic conditions
  • Medical Treatments like advising on the best personalized treatment for cancers. 2 brain-related solutions I found at the conference: EEG devices that can diagnose your emotions, ADHD, depression, and other mental health challenges … and then treat you with personalized non-invasive methods like biofeedback
  • ChatGPT & other conversational AI can help you brainstorm meal ideas & recipes, fitness routines, treatment options, and more

Do You Have to Be Afraid of AI? …

… The biggest worry that Executives hear all over the world is:

Will AI replace me? Will I lose my job??

Most of the time, the answer is: No.?

AI is meant to augment our capabilities and help you shift to more creative, more caring work.

I have been predicting for years that sometime in the future, when you go to the doctor, AI will give personalized recommendations based on your genes, epigenetics, history, current biomarkers, lifestyle, up-to-date research, … and your doctor will be more of a coach and consultant, deciding together with you, which option you want to try out.

What Can You Do Now? …

… Now is the time to start digging into AI … on a personal level but also in your company.

  • Educate yourself about AI … and keep learning about it as it develops
  • Have a plan: What do you want to use AI for? What is your goal? What will it take to achieve this goal?
  • Try different solutions and see what you like & what you don’t like and why
  • Ask others what solutions they use & why
  • Invest in AI startups focused on women’s health, aging & longevity. This is a great way to stay ahead of the curve and drive the development of solutions in the direction you want. Many startups are on crowdsourcing platforms, where even small amounts make a difference
  • Find ways to integrate AI into your business

The Art of Living. What We Can Learn from Iconic French Women …

… A few years ago, I was sitting in a café on the Champs-élysées in Paris, looking at all those beautiful French women walking past … with confidence, grace, and elegance. And it didn’t matter what age they were.

And even though I had been living in France for quite a few years then, I had to wonder what it is about French women that makes them different. What creates this?je ne sais quoi?that allows them to stand out in any situation, to be ageless?

Who better to answer this question than iconic French women such as Joan of Arc, Coco Chanel, Marie Curie, and Simone de Beauvoir … but also Brigitte Bardot, Catherine Deneuve, and Ines de la Fressange, Vanessa Paradis, Carla Bruni, Lea Seydoux, and others who changed history?

Their life philosophies and actions give us a great idea of how to manage the art of living … at any time … and at any age.?

Here is a short abstract from the article I had written for Jeunessima Magazine 19 …?

Go for What You Believe In?

Even if you sometimes feel like you are on your own or too small to really make an impact in the world, just go for it. It cannot be too small or insignificant if you believe in it.

There can be no doubt. Through small steps – bit by bit – you will achieve what you desire.?

Never give up! Look how French women, warrior queen Joan of Arc or researcher Marie Curie and so many others, changed history.

Joan of Arc, for instance, said:

“Every man gives his life for what he believes. Every woman gives her life for what she believes. Sometimes people believe in little or nothing, and so they give their lives to little or nothing.

One life is all we have, and we live it as we believe in living it …. But to surrender who you are and to live without belief is more terrible than dying.”

And no, things don’t always go your way, but …

“Life is not easy for any of us. But what of that? We must have perseverance and above all confidence in ourselves. We must believe that we are gifted for something, and that this thing, at whatever cost, must be attained” (Marie Curie)

Had these women not believed in themselves and their actions, the world would be very different today.

So, go for it! Even if the steps feel tiny; at the end of the day, all those seemingly insignificant steps will amount to massive changes and leave an important mark on the world.?

Cool Product Corner. Play With ChatGPT …

… If you haven’t done so yet, I highly recommend playing around with ChatGPT.

While it is certainly not perfect, it’s surprising how easy it is to ‘communicate’ with this #chatbot. And you can get some great ideas.?

The title of my talk at a Longevity Conference in Dubai was born from suggestions ChatGPT had come up with.

Keep in mind, though, …

  • ChatGPT has been built with the idea of having conversations, and it does that very well
  • The?data it uses are from 2021 and before, says OpenAI, the company behind it. It can happen, though, that the information is as recent as yesterday as we’ve experienced when asking for the current CEO of Twitter or a specific press release published only a day earlier. When asked how ChatGPT knew that, it apologized, said it didn’t know the answer and gave a different one
  • Do NOT rely on any of the information. Always verify! … ChatGPT might give you wrong answers
  • Use it as?a great tool for brainstorming?… from ideas for birthday presents to writing mails, letters, and even jokes & stories, to recipe ideas, writing code, … Do ask for ideas about treatments for health issues that you can discuss with your doctor. ChatGPT can come up with excellent suggestions, but do check elsewhere if that is an actual suggestion that could work. And then speak with your doctor to see if it might be something that can indeed be helpful for you

Quote of the Week …

Ladies, the future of artificial intelligence is yours to shape. As technology continues to evolve, there will be new opportunities to solve problems, create impactful solutions, and improve lives. With your creativity, passion, and leadership, you have the power to harness AI in innovative and exciting ways. So never stop learning, growing, and making a difference in the world

– ChatGPT when I asked it for an inspiring message for women about using artificial intelligence in the future
