Aged Care Update: QI's for In-Home Care

The Department has released the consultation paper on the establishment of mandatory Quality Indicators (QI) for in-home aged care services.

The QI’s are expected to commence 1 July 2026 and we are expecting 7 QI’s:

  • Consumer experience
  • Quality of life
  • Function
  • Service delivery / care planning
  • Workforce
  • Weight loss / nutrition, and
  • Falls / fractures / injury

You can read more about the QI expansion here.

NDIS Update: Foundational Supports

Foundational Supports, part of the NDIS review recommendations, is a hot topic at present however is poorly understood.

Whilst there is limited information available at present, it has been advised that it will be an expansion of the Information, Linkages and Capacity Building (ILC) program which falls under the Department of Social Services (DSS) portfolio.

You can watch a short speech by Scott Lynch (Founder of Community Therapy) at the recent Hunter Disability Expo here if you are interested in hearing more about Foundational Supports.
