Age should never define who we are and what we want to become PERIOD!

People have this mindset today that at a certain age, 30, that perhaps they should stop trying or they failed or at 50," I have not learned my lesson by now"…. This is all bullshit, horrible mindset., we need to stop. Age is just a number these days, age should not define us and our passions.?
People have this mindset comparing themselves to others; who achieved success at a young age and thinking that “it's too late - I am too old” - STOP! Every day is an opportunity for us to achieve our milestones, our success, our mountain tops! These ideas that numbers should define us needs to stop, by a certain age we should stop... It is a waste of time to worry about age and our limits. That is a lie, stop! We need to shut the f^% up.
Age is just a number and should never define who we are or what we want to become. We are all unique individuals with our own talents, passions, and aspirations, and our age should not be a barrier to pursuing our dreams.
One of the biggest misconceptions about aging is that as we get older, we become less capable and less valuable. This is simply not true. Age does bring changes to our bodies and minds, but it also brings wisdom, experience, and perspective. These are all valuable assets that can help us achieve our goals and live fulfilling lives.
Another reason why age should not define us is that it is a societal construct. It is a way of measuring time and has little to do with our individual selves. Our age does not determine our intelligence, our creativity, or our ability to learn new things. We are all capable of growing and changing throughout our lives, no matter our age.

What we need to think about is that we still have our life, we are alive even if we make mistakes that slow us down, and we still have a huge opportunity to learn and grow. Everything about our life is data that allows us to learn and grow!?We should not allow age to define us, we should not let limitations define who we are.?
For me, I love the idea of racing, spartan racing to be specific, and being one with the wild. Yes, I have had multiple injuries but I cannot give up. Yes I have had serious health scares but I found a way to overcome it, while still facing these health issues, and I can not allow it to define who I am and what I want to do or be.?So can you!?
To learn more about this topic beyond my point of view, in the Harvard Health Publishing, a publication titled "Exercise and aging: Can you walk away from Father Time?" that discusses the benefits of regular exercise in reducing the effects of aging. The article states that regular physical activity can help to improve cardiovascular health, maintain muscle and bone mass, and improve cognitive function. Additionally, regular exercise has been shown to reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, diabetes, and certain types of cancer.

In closing, we are all capable of achieving our dreams and living fulfilling lives, no matter our age. Let's break free from societal norms and stereotypes and embrace our unique selves. Let's use our age as a tool for growth and development, not as a barrier to our potential. LFG!!!!!!

1 年Milano you go man! Age is a mindset. With age comes wisdom, the opportunity to reflect and do amazing things. While you all may not spartan we all need to keep moving and grooving. If you stop you will atrophy. We are never too old to achieve the things we are destined to and never to old to learn. And btw old man (still younger than me) we are overdue for a catch up! Lol!

1 年Wayne P. Milano great article. In 2018 I completed a Spartan race, as you know, at 43 and the Tower Climb at 44. Since than I've let myself slip a little. Thanks for the reminder to get back out there.
