AGE and AGEING: POSITIVE and NEGATIVE!!!

AGE, AGEING: Etymology: A period of existence!!!; it characterizes a period of existence!!!  To age: to grow old. Old, Latin, alo, and in ancient Germanic, alt, means so wonderfully: to NOURISH!!!., and “ to bring up.” In general, alo means: to strengthen, to increase, to advance!!! = to become taller, to become deeper: thus= to grow up!!! Nowadays it means the exact opposite: worn out, decayed, deteriorated and no longer useful!!!

This so very important word by now, as you have seen, has two meanings: growth or degeneration.

Isn’t this incredible??? What can we learn from it? We can learn that our whole life is not pre-determined, but “totally” open , depending on our choices, thoughts, emotions, energy, optimism, pessimism, gratitude, forgiveness, joy, happiness, anger, hatred, enthusiasm, etc. Expectations create our lives: positive ones and negative ones! Correct?

We should not despise old age and adore youth! Youth is not a state to be preserved but a state to be transcended.
