Did you miss me?
I missed you!
For some reason, the past two weeks felt longer than usual.
Over the week I saw something that annoyed me and I will share my thoughts on it. It is no news that the Olympics has commenced. However, I find the opening ceremony to be insulting, blasphemous and disrespectful of Christian values and religious conservative values.
This is not the first time that such a blasphemous act will be performed on a global platform. If controversial values get a lot of publicity then it is a wake-up call for those doing the right thing to be loud about their beliefs and their faith.
This week I watched the documentary of Stan Lee and something that stood out for me was how he fought against the publishers association to advocate against drug abuse in his comic. We can also publicize, promote and advocate for good values using our work.
Next, I don't know who handles the marketing for the reality TV show Big Brother in Nigeria but the devil sure works hard. It is either the show starts when there is an important National issue that young people want to speak out on or something Nationally dramatic that is of importance to young people and the future generation of the nation is about the happen.
Speaking of the proposed Nation-Wide (Hunger) Protest Hmm! I have a lot of thoughts and I am not sure of what to say. First, it is ironic the amount of counter protest that have been organized against the actual protest.
Next, I understand that Nigerians are angry, me too I am angry! The prices of things in the market have gone an "eyes front" Also known as "look front and walk". In the first quarter of the year, I and some of my friends kept watching in amazement and dismay as import duties increased up to 5 times, Crazy!
While, the current administration may advocate for citizens to #Keepcalmandtrustthepresident. The Citizens are angry and want to protest.
Citizens have a right to protest. Nevertheless, the wounds, scars and memories of the #Endsars protest are still fresh and warm in the hearts of Nigerians especially the youth.
Adults are either afraid or fascinated by children because they see themselves in them. The current leaders also fought as young people to get to where they are. While there maybe many agendas in this protest season my advice is to protest peacefully and stay safe.
In advocating, protesting, praying and working for a Nigeria that works for us all. It is important for the younger generation to prepare to govern and lead right. Eventually, there will be an opportunity for us to lead and if we miss that opportunity when it comes may we not have an influx of bad leaders in government, may our children not ask for our seat because they consider us incompetent leaders.
In the superhero comic and movies, when you are fighting a villain with multiple heads, the collective effort and strength of various superheroes are combined together to strategically hit the villain at specific spots either simultaneously or in a series of attacks. All these in a chaotic battle that keeps you nervous, anxious and hopeful all at the same time.
Nigeria will be great again!
God bless the Giant of Africa!
God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Keep your mind open till you hear my next thoughts,
D Oracle!
