Not Again…

There is another tragic accident involving a Boeing 737. This time it’s the Boeing 737 800 series, with the crash of China Eastern Airlines Flight MU5735, with 132 people on board. This accident could not have come at a worse time for Boeing as it is trying to get back on its feet after suffering the loss of the two Boeing 737 MAXs in 2018 and 2019. In this week's On Aviation? digest, we will share a couple of News articles giving some details as to what is known so far. We should also make it very clear that no one knows the cause of the accident, and Boeing’s aircraft may not be at fault here.

Thank you for the tag! I read the news. It was a Boeing 737-800, not 737-max as those of 2018-2019 accidents. So that, the problem should not be linked to the MCAS. If you have not already seen it, take a look on "Flight Radar 24" data. It is a very "interesting" flight profile: the descend was very steep, however the CAS was quite constant. There is a video online, that shows the instants before the crash: the pitch angle was close to -90 degrees, with the entire airframe intact! Does it seem to be a spin descent? I do not think that a civil aircraft can reach that attitude only pushing the pitch stick, without breaking the horizontal tail and/or wings... I am very curious about the investigation
