Has your business got the 'face' it deserves?
We seem to be slowly poking our heads out of the lockdown and feeling our way back into the big wide world but after a year of sitting at the kitchen table are you feeling a little lost out there? Has your Business Profile taken a backseat whilst you’ve been busy just trying to get through your day and everything that entails?
It’s hard to draw in those clients whilst stuck at home. People work with people and want to feel they can connect with someone before taking them on. How can we draw them in if we can’t go out and meet them? How can we show them who we are and how wonderful, without sitting face to face?
These days you need to draw clients in like never before. They need to see that Headshot of yours and feel immediately connected with you. They need to feel drawn in by that portrait of your personality. That YOU are the person they’re looking for to do the job they’re looking to get done. No need to click to the next website – they’ve found their match.
As someone who hates having her picture taken as much as the next person, I am full of sympathy and can understand just how awful the idea of your headshot shoot can feel. Believe me, as an ex-actress who had to frequently get her photos taken I know only too well how that feels! There was nothing I hated more than sitting in front of that camera, never knowing where to put my arms and legs or how to smile with my eyes as well as my mouth!
I hated those shoots SO much so have my utmost sympathy for anyone plonking themselves down in front of the lens! The good news though is that it really won't be as awful as you imagine. In fact, with a good photographer you may even really enjoy it! It can be fun and empowering and will do wonders for your self-esteem!
You don’t just want a pretty picture (though that would be rather nice of course). You want a headshot that speaks to people, that shows your personality and warmth. Make sure wherever you’re based in the world you find a photographer who you think can make you feel totally at ease. Someone warm and appealing themselves so you don’t freeze up and feel scared and uncomfortable the whole way through your shoot.
All being well, it looks like we'll all be out there again from the 21st June - how strange will that be?! At least if you've got a great portrait out there online you'll be able to take your time in joining the throngs again!
See you out there!

3 年I think it’s a challenge becuase we have moved away from the corporate head shot to the working at home shot. You always have fantastic head shots Henrietta!

3 年Great article, Henrietta Photography! A headshot is a challenging piece of work. I recognised myself in the "hating having this done" part. Being in front of the camera can make you feel awkward and out of place. It's good to have someone like you to deliver your clients vision as a polished final look.
