Empowering the next generation through inclusive digital transformation, self agency, inspirational leadership and a sense of purpose in an ever changing world.
I was privileged to attend the Kenyan Diaspora Alliance conference online, and it was heartwarming to hear so many innovative programs and ideas from members of the Kenyan diaspora. Thank you, Dr Shem, for inviting me to share some insights into the implications of artificial intelligence on African creative industries. We are witnessing the digital scramble for Africa. We need to start writing African stories and developing strong data sovereignty in the age of AI. African arts and culture have been appropriated, re-constructed and disaggregated in digital platforms owned by non-Africans. In the age of AI, such data disaggregation will become the lens through which future Africa will be perceived. AI is the new frontier we need to empower Africans to understand and use it to reclaim their agency.
