Tuskegee Design + Construction Management Expo Welcomes Nmadili Okwumabua, Founder, CPDI Africa. As we 'Build on the Foundation' created by the Afrofuturistic Nation of Wakanda - Black Panther, we envision endless possibilities for Developing Black Space inspired by the Cultures of Africa.
The Community Planning & Design Initiative Africa (CPDI Africa), challenges creatives in the built environment to envision place and space, as designed by and for the diverse communities of the African Diaspora. What Architectural expressions would we create if our communities were built in our own image: from Houston to Jamaica, from Compton to Cairo, from Atlanta to Abuja, from Johannesburg to Kinshasa. Architecture expressed in a plethora of cultures, aesthetics and materiality, is inspired by the depth and diversity of our story.
The Art of African Architecture Exhibition and Seminar promotes Afrofuturism and the built environment with Winning Designs from our CPDI Africa Modern Architecture Competitions, submitted by professionals from all over the world! Our special Audience gains foundational knowledge of design elements sourced from traditional Black culture and aesthetics, via lecture presentation, short video clips and the CPDI Africa ‘Art of African Architecture’ exhibition.
Welcome to the Conversation on Developing New Architectural Languages for Africa & The Diaspora that are Culturally & Environmentally Sustainable!
