Africa and the Future of Work Report 2022
The 2022 edition of Africa and The Future of Work Report will be coming out this August (shout out to my Co-founder Roger Roman). This annual report looks at the current state of Africa’s work landscape and seeks to provide pointers regarding what the future will hold for African professionals and those seeking talent in Africa.?
The FOW report came about from a realization that the world does not have the latest information on Africa and its future of work.?
When a workforce is not sufficiently prepared for what the future of work holds, we run the risk of having several key roles go unoccupied simply because there aren't enough skilled individuals to fill those positions. In compiling this report, AfriBlocks is trying to provide African professionals with some guidelines regarding what lies ahead.?
The most important thing (in my opinion) is that we have a responsibility, as a community, to ensure that we enable seamless continuity of feeding the global market with talent. This starts with ensuring that the talent we produce has been trained in line with what the job market is demanding of us. There is no point in wasting time and resources educating individuals in career fields that will soon be obsolete.?
African professionals are on the cusp of taking over the global job market. As we build the tools to accelerate growth; preparing for the future of work is one of the key pillars we need to execute.
I hope that the FOW report goes some way in helping African professionals, investors, and entrepreneurs to be better prepared for what the job market demands of them going forward.?
