We help clients solve key business issues through the right communication.
With 2025 approaching, planning season is now. With planning comes evaluation and, yes, a bit of scrutinizing. Especially when it comes to your marketing communications. Below are three tips on how to pulse-check your communications and action steps to boost your results in the new year.?
Are your marketing communications strategies and tactics laddering up to your overall business goals??
If the answer is no – that could be the root of the issue. It’s difficult to measure and speak to ROI and business impact if the marketing communications aren’t built around an organization’s foundational goals. So, what do you do? Change that for 2025 and begin planning with the end in mind. Where do you want your business to be at the end of the year? How can your communications help get you there???
Do you have a scorecard and, if yes, how are you using it??
Yes – I know that scorecards and KPIs get thrown around a lot. If you use them correctly, they can be an extremely effective must-have for any marketing plan. Of course, you need the right metrics, and I’m not talking about vanity metrics that look impressive but offer little substance. Strong data that can be analyzed periodically tells you if something’s working and helps you identify when a course correction is needed.?

Conduct a post-mortem on your 2024 marketing communications plan.?
I promise it’s not as morbid as it sounds. It involves sitting around the table (literally or not) with your team and reflecting on the successes and opportunities from the current year. Are there themes among the successful campaigns versus the not-so-successful ones? Are your processes seamless or does it seem like a heavy lift when execution is involved??
Questions like these help your team unearth what’s working and what isn’t.?
If any of the above seems daunting – it doesn’t have to be. Sometimes an outside perspective can be just what your planning needs. Through strategy sessions, creative brainstorming, and social and media relations audits, we help our clients do just that.?
