What is Affiliate Marketing?

Affiliate marketing is a performance-based marketing strategy in which an advertiser (also known as a merchant or vendor) pays a commission to an affiliate (also known as a publisher or promoter) for each sale or conversion generated through the affiliate's marketing efforts.

In other words, an affiliate promotes a product or service to their audience and earns a commission for each sale or conversion that they generate. The advertiser benefits by getting more exposure for their product or service, and the affiliate benefits by earning a commission without having to create their own product or service.

How Does Affiliate Marketing Work?

Here's a simplified overview of how affiliate marketing works:

  1. The advertiser(Company) creates an affiliate program and provides promotional materials such as banners, links, and product information to the affiliate(You).
  2. The affiliate(you) promotes the advertiser's products or services to their audience through various channels such as social media, email, blog posts, Facebook, youtube videos, Tiktok, Instagram or paid advertising.
  3. The affiliate earns a commission for each sale or conversion generated through their promotional efforts.
  4. The advertiser tracks and manages the affiliate's performance and pays out commissions on a regular basis.
