AFA #10: Love Yourself Financially

I said I was going to speak more about money and I meant it!

In today’s newsletter, I am going to explain the financial revelation I had and the amazing woman coaching me to achieve my wealthy life.?

I’ve always envisioned becoming at least a millionaire in my lifetime. I didn’t know the exact details behind it, but I knew it was possible.?

This year I had 2 simple financial goals. The first was to pay off my MBA loan and the second was to make a six-figure salary.?

After doing both I realized reaching my millions wasn’t so easy. Even though the 2 goals I set and achieved were great, they were not key actions toward wealth.??

So I told myself I would get a financial advisor to help me make a plan that would guarantee I would become a millionaire ( I know now that is not their job haha).?

One person who stood out was a childhood friend from Canada who now worked in the financial sector in the UAE.??

Lydia-Elim A. isn’t just a financial advisor. She is a “Wealth Coach for Women specialized in using education and empowerment”.?She is an expert and someone I trust to embark on this empowering but vulnerable journey with.?

Before opening the workbook she sent me my first assumption was that she would ask me how much I make, how much I save, and how much I want to earn.

I was completely wrong.?

The first question I saw was?

“What’s your first money memory?”
Lydia made me dig into my selective memory to find the answer

Next, she asked me to

“Think about your environment as a child. What money beliefs were you taught, whether explicitly or implicitly?”

Now we are getting deep. I never thought these were things to consider to get started in my investment journey. It was a revelation that before going on this financial journey to wealth I had to set a foundational understanding of my relationship with money.?

It didn’t take long for us to uncover I had things to deal with related to fear.?

An overlooked part of self-care is making sure your finances are in order and evermore that you have a healthy relationship with money.?

Lydia’s LYF course is helping me:

  • Break the taboo around talking about finances.
  • Break unhealthy money patterns and use money with intention.
  • Have confidence in my financial independence to feel secure.
  • Benefit from bespoke financial advice and create a personalized plan for my income and goals.
  • Create a generational legacy.

This is how I will Love myself financially.
